That's a wonderful title huh? Well that's what happened last night; all hell broke loose with the horses...namely mine. It was my dad's mare, Boogie, and my paint horse Tonto, tied to the fence, saddled and soakin, lettin 'em think about it ya see. With only the intention of riding Tonto, dad comes out to the barn where I'm already taking pictures of the horses. "Let me get on him first and make sure he's not gonna buck then you can ride him" dad says...alrighty then, I'll just set on the fence and watch. Nothing's gonna happen, Tonto's a 12 yr old "kid" horse....sure he's been turned out all winter and has a grass belly so big that we had to let the cinch out as far as it would go, but he's good and broke, he's not gonna act stupid, right? HA
WRONG! After two laps around the lot, ol paint bogs his head and bout throws dad over the fence. This is just
WONDERFUL. So when
jackass Tonto calms down, dad gets off, says [quite] a few cuss words and tells him what a sorry thing he is, we take off across the parkin lot to the other barn where the round pen is.
Long story short, by the time dad got done with him Tonto wasn't feeling near as froggy. And to make Tonto feel even more bad about himself(lol) dad went and got the little brat Boogie and threw her in the round pen with Tonto. So after a little more cussing from dad, we take the horses back to our barn, unsaddle them and go to the house.
SO what's to happen with Tonto? Um, dry lot, standing saddled in the evening, more dry lot, a diet of hay, and possibly a trip to the Northy's for a month or so to get him calmed down a little. And hopefully I'll have something to ride during shipping
Tonight I'll go saddle Tonto and let him soak more then maybe take him back to the round pen again....but this time he might not be lucky enough to get to stand in the shade.
Horses. Can't like with em and can't like without em!
I'll post updates on the horses later on tonight or in the morning...depending if hell brakes loose with them again...haha
